Swap!

Just another quick post... Alex recently hosted her second swap over on ILWS. This swap was for a gift card holder and we had to make 8 cards. My colour combo is whisper white, so saffron and pumpkin pie (been using these colours a bit too much recently!) The bird is from the fun and fast notes set with a sentiment from the circle of friendship set. The pumpkin pie ribbon and a silver brad from the hodgepodge set finishes it off xx

Little forest friends

Hi! Hope you're having a great week and enjoying the sunshine (hope the weather has been good where you are) We've been feeding a family of hedgehogs, complete with babies (aahhh!!) for the last couple of months, and I've had lots of advice from a lovely lady that runs a hospital for Hedgehogs! She takes in Hedgehogs from all over Leicestershire on a voluntary basis, isn't that fab! I wanted to make a card to say thank you. The stamp set is the gorgeous little forest friends set from My Cute Stamps. I'm planning to make a batch of similar cards for her to sell at an upcoming fundrasing day. The DSP I've used is Doodlebug with a bit of October Afternoon with the SU! colours cameo coral and choc chip. The ribbon is SU!'s regal rose grosgrain and the button is from the SU! mini catalogue tied with some linen thread. Have a fab day, it's nearly the weekend! Hooray! xxx

September already!

...Where did August go?! Hello and I hope you had a great weekend. I have a quick card to share made with the pocket silhouettes (so glad this made the new SU! catalogue!) It's such a fab stamp set to use. My colours are cameo coral, night of navy, whisper white, and ruby red. The button is from the mini SU catalogue along with some non SU! pale pink stitched ribbon. The linen thread used on the button has been coloured with a marker. I've tried to create the look of a button with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch by layering the button several times and then adding some diamond glaze, this doesn't show up with my rubbish photography though! Hope you have a super week and thanks so much for visiting! xx

A little gift

Hello and a very happy bank holiday Monday to you! Shame about the weather, hope it's better where you are! We're off to a family get together today and seeing baby Phoebe born to my cousins Emma & Andrew and cousins Helen & Billy's baby Ruby. Hoping to get lots of fab photos! I've made a little gift for the girls, just a simple gift bag to house a little puppet! I know both have loads and loads of clothes and it's sooo tricky knowing what to get for them as a little something, then I spotted these! For the gift bag and card I've used SU's so saffron and pumpkin pie with some summer picnic and washington apple DSP. The ribbon is pumpkin pie used with the Wild about you! stamp set. Hope you have a fab day! xx

Out with the old...

Hello! I hope you're having a great weekend whatever you're doing. As the new Stampin' Up! catalogue will be out very soon (exciting!) I've been giving away a few of my much loved stamp sets to make room for some new lovelies!
I'm planning on having several great offers on after the launch of the catalogue in October so watch this space for some fantastic deals, please email me also if you would like a copy of the new catty and I'll post one off to you.
I've made a quick card using the True Friend set with the colours brocade blue, old olive, night of navy, whisper white and not quite navy. The striped old olive dsp is SU Summer Picnic. I've used my nesties labels one die with some brocade blue grosgrain ribbon and a flower ribbon slide from the hodgepodge hardware kit. The sentiment is from the Cheer & Wishes set layered with the scalloped oval punch. Enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

It's begining to look a lot like...

ooops! I've just taken delivery of this fab fiskars apron lace border punch and it's inspired me to make a shabby chic style card, but I think it looks more like a Christmas style card! (and it's a bit too early for those isn't it?!) I've used SU Soft Summer with real red and old olive with a bit of whisper white and lots of dots, I think the paper is doodlebug.
Thanks so much for looking and I hope you enjoy a hotter than hot and super sunny bank holiday weekend! xx

Hi!

Some days I struggle to think of a title for my blog entries, must try and be more creative with this! It's been a really sunny and warm weekend again and I've been doing a bit of crafting. We are in the middle of decorating our spare room at the moment and I've been looking at lots of paint swatches in sunny yellows, so thought I would make a card to match! I've used the SU Simply Said flowers and a sentiment from the SU Circle Of Friendship set. The colours are so saffron, real red and whisper white. The border punch is fiskars and the striped ribbon is from the SU mini catalogue.
I 've also made a card and gift bag. The papers are from Stampin' Up's! summer picnic DSP with the colours so saffron, real red, basic grey and very vanilla. The flowers have been made using the SU scallop circle punch along with some real red ribbon and some SU jumbo eyelets (these are so fab to use!) Bye for now and thanks so much for looking!

It's been a sunny and warm weekend...

Hooray! Hope you're having a great one! Whilst it was a bit grey outside last week, I made this card and it has a bit of an autumnal feel to it! I've used some papers that I found recently from My Minds Eye in the bloom & grow design, love these. The little owl is from Stampin'Up's forest friends set and the tree branch is a Hero Arts one. The colours I've used are choc chip, pumpkin pie and whisper white with a designer button from the mini catalogue. I've also used the oval and scalloped oval with the oval all sentiment from Stampin' Up! and a fiskars threading water border punch.

Bleach it up!

Hello! I've been wanting to try this technique for a while as I've seen a few cards made this way and they looked lovely! I applied my bleach directly to my stamp and then on to the card. Here I've used rose red, going gray and regal rose. The stamp is the stem from Soft Summer coloured with rose red and always artichoke. I was a bit concerned that the bleach smell would linger for a bit but it went away very quickly!
The bleach has been used again for this one with the rose red and always artichoke. The ribbon slider and frame are from the hodgepodge hardware box. The background has been stamped with the paisley stamp. Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a great week! xx

Wheel Swap

Hello hope you are having a fab weekend. I participated in my first ever swap a couple of weeks ago hosted by the lovely Alex over on ILWS. The swap recipe was to use a Stampin' Up! wheel image and here's mineI decided to use the 'It's Beautiful' Jumbo Wheel in the colours Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Bravo Burgundy and Whisper White. I've then added some pearls from the pretties kit with some gold elastic cord and a sentiment from 'Simply Said'. The swaps from the girls I received in exchange were fantastic and so varied in style and technique. Thanks so much Alex for hosting this swap.

Hello and a little card...

Hello x I Hope my blogging friends are really well. I only have one little card to post today but as I have a few days off I'm hoping to get some serious crafting done! I'm getting so much mileage out of my SU forest friends set and the little tree is one of my favourites. I've used Pumpkin Pie, Kraft, Choc Chip, and Bashful Blue. The backing paper is SU's Tea & Crumpets with a couple of silver brads and some crystals (can't stop using these for the sparkle factor!) I've had a go with my chalks to add a bit of interest but think I may have overdone it a bit!

Another crafty weekend!

Hello and I hope you've had a fab weekend! I've had such a relaxing one crafting (fab) and catching up with housework (yuk!) The weather here has been really gloomy and wet (another yuk!) But I have made a few cards this weekend. For the first one I wanted it to be sturdy enough to hold a few photos and this is what I came up with:I've used the lovely 'Soft Summer' set from the mini SU catalogue with the colours Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Certainly Celery along with some 'Very Vanilla' Grosgrain Ribbon. The embossed background is my favourite Cuttlebug 'Birds and Swirls' folder, it's so lovely to use. I've finished off with a Choc Chip button from the mini catalogue with some gold cord threaded through and glazed the flowers and leaves with diamond glaze.

My next one, another made with 'Soft Summer' I've used the colours Mellow Moss, Choc Chip, and Pretty In Pink'. The sanded background was stamped on Mellow Moss with the same colour ink, then layered with Pretty In Pink, Choc Chip and Whisper White. I've used some of the Choc Chip Taffeta Ribbon along with my Scallop and oval punches for the sentiment. And finally a birthday card! I've used my fab 'Crazy For Cupcakes' set with some 'Summer Picnic' DP. The colours are Real Red and Bashful Blue.
Sorry for the long post! Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a great week, fingers crossed for some sunshine too!
Hugs xx

Hello and a very Happy Easter. Hope you've had a fantastic and relaxing weekend with lots of chocolate thrown in too! They were quite heavy by the end!

Fab weekend!

Morning and hope you all had a lovely weekend. The weather has just been gorgeous here and I started my spring cleaning and sorting out the garden. I Just wanted to share this first pic of our very early morning visitors. For the last couple of days these two have been at my back door waiting for breakfast! They were here last year at about the same time and I couldn't believe it when I heard the familiar quacking last Friday! They waddle off as soon as I open the door with their tray of food and then as soon as I turn they come running back!!!
I've been having loads of fun with my new SU goodies and I love the 'Forest Friends' set along with the 'Tea Party' DSP. Here's the first made with 'Forest Friends' set. The little bird comes from 'Wild About You'. The colours are Old Olive, Ruby Red, Choc Chip and some Whisper White. The leaves have been coloured using my markers with Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, and Old Olive. I've added some Choc Chip Taffeta Ribbon, and a Choc Chip designer button from the mini catalogue. For the next one I've also used the tree from 'Forest Friends' stamped with Bashful Blue. Coloured the leaves with So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue. The card base is Pretty in Pink and the Scallop base made with the Scallop Edge Punch is Bashful Blue. The flowers were from the 'Wild about you' set. Finally added a sentiment from 'Cheer & Wishes' and then some Stripy So Saffron grosgrain ribbon from the mini catalogue. Thanks so much for looking xxx

Busy weekend

Hello and hope you had a fantastic and relaxing weekend. I had a really busy one and didn't have as much time as I wanted to play with my gorgeous new SU starter kit! I managed one card to add to a sample board I'm making. For this one I've used the 'Botanical Blooms' set. The flowers and leaves have been stamped with my versamark pad on to Whisper White Card and then embossed with some gold embossing powder. This has been layered on to Regal Rose and Old Olive Card. I've used my SU markers in Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. The Whiper White Ribbon has been coloured with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose markers to try and achieve a two-tone efffect on the ribbon, not as visible on the photo though! Thanks so much for looking and I hope you have a lovely week.

New beginnings

Hello! I've been a bit busy! I've loads of news to share and have also been busy creating some Stampin' Up samples and several cards for friends.
For the first card I've used the retired 'Unfrogettable set'. This set is fantastic and is still available (whilst stock last) so grab it while you can!! The colours used are Old Olive, Bashful Blue, More Mustard and some Chocolate Chip (yum!) for the snail!
The second card is for a friend at work who has recently passed lots of exams. The colours used are Regal Rose for the card base, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, and So Saffron. The stamp set is 'Cheers to you' I've used the SU Scallop Border punch and then punched some circles with my Crop-ADile then blinged these up a bit with some SU dazzling diamonds! The stitched ribbon isn't SU but I think it goes really well with the colours. Thanks so much for looking xxx
